Sony Ericsson W580i (Insert Sim error)

Over the past few weeks my phone was getting more and more temperamental. It would now-and-again keep locking up then do what looked like a soft restart, then recently it just would not work, it kept saying insert SIM. It took me a little while to realise that the SIM card actually needs to be pushed right in so it clicks… this is impossible to do with your fingers (or normal nails) finally did it with a pen, without breaking the phone or SIM card too much.

Seems like a bit of a design flaw to me. Lets hope this post helps other fellow W580i users to solve this problem, that is if Google indexes it.

Update: Looks like Google has indexed it, welcome fellow W580i owners. I have taken some photos which might help people further.

After taking off the back of the phone, take out the battery. The sim card might look something like this:

You then need to push it into the slot with a pen or the corner of the back of the casing works too.
